Job Title: Storage Labour

Job Description:

As a Storage Labourer, your primary responsibility will be to assist with the handling, organization, and maintenance of goods and materials within a storage facility. You will work closely with other team members to ensure the efficient and safe operation of the storage area. Your duties may vary depending on the specific needs of the organization, but typical responsibilities include:

Inventory Management:

 Accurately recording and tracking incoming and outgoing inventory items using appropriate software or manual record-keeping systems. Maintaining inventory accuracy by conducting regular counts and reconciling any discrepancies.

Loading and Unloading: 

Safely loading and unloading materials from delivery trucks, ensuring proper handling techniques to prevent damage to goods. Using appropriate equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, or dollies to move heavy items.

Sorting and Storing: 

Organizing incoming goods according to established storage protocols. This includes labeling items, arranging them in designated storage areas, and optimizing space utilization to maximize storage capacity.

Maintenance and Cleanliness: 

Keeping the storage area clean, tidy, and free from hazards. Regularly inspecting storage equipment and reporting any maintenance or repair needs to supervisors. Adhering to health and safety guidelines to prevent accidents and maintain a safe work environment.

Order Fulfillment:

 Retrieving items from storage upon request and preparing them for shipment or pickup. Ensuring accurate picking, packing, and labeling of orders to meet customer requirements.

Documentation and Reporting: 

Maintaining accurate records of inventory levels, transactions, and storage conditions. Generating reports on inventory status, stock movements, and any incidents or issues that may arise.

Team Collaboration: 

Collaborating with colleagues and supervisors to optimize workflow, resolve issues, and improve operational efficiency. Communicating effectively to ensure the smooth flow of information and coordination within the storage team.

Requirements:

High school diploma or equivalent.

Prior experience in a similar role or warehouse environment is preferred but not always required.

Physical stamina and strength to handle heavy items and work in a fast-paced environment.

Knowledge of proper lifting and handling techniques to prevent injuries.

Familiarity with inventory management systems and basic computer skills.

Attention to detail and ability to perform accurate data entry.

Strong organizational and time management skills.

Excellent teamwork and communication abilities.

Willingness to follow safety protocols and guidelines.
