Petaling Jaya: Rapid KL will cooperate fully with the police to conduct an investigation into the fire of a bus route T640 (Light Rail Transit (LRT) Taman Jaya - Taman Sri Sentosa), here, today.

Rapid KL said the fire broke out near the bus stop in Jalan Penchala this morning.

 According to them, the Fire and Rescue team was contacted and arrived at the scene at 11.15am.

 "The fire was successfully controlled and completely extinguished at 12 noon.

 "At the time of the incident, there were eight passengers on the bus. The bus captain and passengers did not suffer any injuries," he said in a statement today.

 He said the passengers involved took alternative transport to get to their destination.

 "There was no damage to public property. The cause of the fire is still under investigation," he said.

 Earlier, Harian Metro reported that eight passengers faced an anxious moment after the Rapid KL bus caught fire in Jalan Tandang, today.
