KUCHING: A 46-year-old Indonesian man was killed after being struck by a four-wheel drive vehicle in Simpang Saratok on Wednesday.
According to a statement from the Saratok District Malaysian Civil Defence Force (APM), emergency responders rushed to the scene immediately after receiving the report.
“Upon arrival, it was discovered that the incident involved a four-wheel drive vehicle and a pedestrian. The victim has been identified as Cornelius Kennedy, an Indonesian national aged 46,” the statement said.
Medical personnel confirmed that the victim died at the scene due to severe injuries.
APM personnel, assisted by police, transferred the body to a police vehicle for further procedures. Teams from the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) and the Saratok Fire and Rescue Department (JBPM) were also present during the operation.
Authorities expressed condolences to the victim’s family and reaffirmed their commitment to responding promptly to emergencies and ensuring public safety.
