KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysian police have confirmed that suspended police officer Sheila Shiron Stephen Kumar — widely known as “Inspector Sheila” — has lodged a report over a dispute with a food vendor near the Dang Wangi police station.
According to Kuala Lumpur police chief Fadzil Maros, the complaint against the food vendor is one of three reports filed by Sheila.
Earlier, Sinar Daily reported that the incident occurred on the morning of November 13, when Sheila allegedly shouted at customers and questioned the legality of the vendor’s business licence. She also accused the vendor of bribing local authorities by offering them free meals.
No Offence Found After Initial Probe
Fadzil said that following preliminary investigations, the case was classified as “no offence disclosed” and was considered settled.
He added that Sheila’s second report pertained to her arrest, in which she claimed she was unfairly detained on suspicion of obstructing government duties.
Complaint of Lack of Respect From Officers
In her third report, Sheila alleged that police personnel failed to treat her with the respect due to a senior officer. This matter has been forwarded to the Integrity and Standards Compliance Department for review, though it has been marked as requiring no further action.
Background of Ongoing Case
Last Wednesday, Sheila pleaded not guilty in a magistrates’ court to a charge of obstructing a police officer near a restaurant in Dang Wangi on November 4, during a crime prevention patrol.
The charge followed the circulation of a viral video in which she was seen arguing with police officers and accusing them of intimidating a Pakistani man.
