KUALA LUMPUR: A 31-year-old Taiwanese model and social media influencer, Iris Hsieh, was found dead in a hotel bathtub in Kuala Lumpur. Police say the cause of death remains under investigation.
According to reports, officers were alerted around noon on October 30 after receiving a call about an unconscious woman. The victim was found wrapped in a white towel, with nine blue pills discovered nearby — believed to be stimulant or sexual enhancement drugs.
Authorities confirmed there were no visible injuries on her body. The remains have been sent to Kuala Lumpur General Hospital for a post-mortem. Police have classified the case as a “sudden death” pending toxicology results.
Malaysian Singer Namewee Questioned
Sources revealed that Malaysian rapper and singer Namewee was present at the hotel during the incident. He reportedly told investigators that he and Hsieh had been intimate before she went to the bathroom and became unresponsive.
Namewee attempted CPR before calling for help, police said. He was detained under the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952 for alleged possession and use of illegal substances but was later released on bail.
Investigators suspect the pair may have used drugs before engaging in sexual activity. The case is scheduled for hearing on December 8.

On November 2, Namewee released a statement on Instagram denying drug use. He said he remained silent during the investigation to avoid disrupting legal procedures.
